This weekend we chat to the lovely Deborah from @apieceofcake82 in our latest P & A Q & A.
Moody, intriguing and cosy. Deborah’s feed is full of wonderful tonal colours, wintery light and pleasing compositions. With Scandinavian inspired interiors and inviting shots of unmade beds, disappear into @apieceofcake82 for pure, perfect pictures.
We asked Deborah about her style, how she shoots her photos and what it was that got her into Instagram. Read the answers below and enjoy a small selection of her photos, we would recommend boiling the kettle now…!
Describe your style in 5 words
Minimal, nordic, sophisticated, natural, modern.
What are the tools you use to create your feed?
I mostly snap on my iPhone 6s and then edit them in either Camera plus or VSCO. I like to play around with different filters, but trying not to change the photograph to much.
Who or what inspires you?
Not one person or thing inspires me. My inspiration comes from a lot of things, nature, reading, magazines but mostly my daily life.
If you had an extra hour in the day what would you do?
I would run a hot bubble bath and soak in it for a whole hour with no interruptions from my kids, flicking through my interior magazines.
What is your personal motto?
I don’t really have a personal motto. This year I have really been trying to enjoy family life, take things a little slower and to get some simplicity in our everyday life.
How did you get into the wonderful world of Instagram?
I worked in a creative job and was on maternity leave with my second child, Sebastian. Of course I was busy with a newborn and an active toddler but I needed a platform to be creative, and Instagram worked. My following naturally grew and I loved using the platform. I still love creating images that I hope inspire and I use the platform to get inspired and find talented people all over the world.
Which hashtag should we been exploring right now?
I haven’t really been a fan of hashtags until recently. Ones that I use mostly are; #theauthenticfeeling #theartofslowliving #littlestoriesofmylife #makemoments #aquietstyle.
Who else should we follow on instagram? Who’s your top three?
The Instagram accounts that I always check daily are: @kon_tam (there is a calmness in every picture) @pellahedeby (real inspiration when it comes to interiors) @_foodstories_ (Amazing recipes and food styling)
Thank you so much for your time Deborah. Now off you all go to explore even more of @apieceofcake82‘s beautiful imagery!
