Since our last update (click here to read the previous post to catch you up!) lots has happened at Eden Hall Cottage. If you have been following along with our Instagram @edenhallnorfolk, then you will have seen we have taken the house right back to a shell. We had to replace the first floor as too many of the joists had failed and it wasn’t really safe to walk on. It was a massive shame but was something that had to happen.
Once all the old timber was removed, we set about putting a new floor back in and then constructing the new rooms on the first floor. Taking the floor out gave us the opportunity to re-design the first floor, so we’ve created three bedrooms, one family bathroom and an en-suite. Pictures below show how it is looking now!
The other major change on the first floor is the ceiling! We have vaulted all the ceilings and exposed lots of lovely beams.
This week, we are hoping to have enough good weather to repair the roof in the kitchen!
That’s all for now! But if you are interested to know how it is all going then do make sure you are following @edenhallnorfolk and join us on our journey. We’re almost there and we’re getting really exciting!
